Press Release

“Breaking Housing Matters (BHM) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to building affordable housing profitably. Specifically, it is offering a new private-public-non-partisan housing partnership and subsidy solution that buyers and renters alike will not have to pay more than 25% of their income for a mortgage or rent,” said Peter de Krassel, founder of the movement.

In the true spirit of American innovation and grit, BHM … symbolizing it is time to replace existing housing policies with a new disruptive policy. The Boston Housing Party is a Housing Revolution Party proposing to Boston and Massachusetts an innovative and cutting-edge housing solution to the housing crisis. Instead of protesting “Taxation Without Representation,” BHM is calling for “Housing By Representation” this leap-election year. BHM’s Housing Subsidy Solution (HSS), funded by the Housing Subsidy Fund (HSF), is just that: a paradigm shift, a revolutionary housing sea change that subsidizes the balance of 75% of the purchase price and rent.

“It is past time to build affordable housing for buyers and renters, housing that is also profitable for landlords and developers,” said de Krassel in his opening remarks at the launch of BHM’s inaugural event. With an extensive career spanning over four decades, Peter de Krassel is a trusted political advisor, attorney, author of the Custom Maid Books series, public speaker, and international business entrepreneur. As the founder of Breaking Housing Matters, he is on a mission to address the housing crisis, create community, and bridge the gap between affordability and profitability.

BHM’s HSS is a subsidized housing strategy. It would involve a partnership between the private sector and government, managed by bankers and real estate executives rather than government officials. In short, this solution could make housing affordable to homeowners and renters while also giving the developer-landlord a reasonable return on investment.

Just as the American Revolution was set in motion by key events like the burning of the Gaspe in Newport, RI and the Boston Tea Party, this Leap Year sparks the beginning of a global housing change, starting in Rutland, Vermont, followed with a Boston Housing Party March 1 on the revolutionary ship that hosted the Boston Tea Party. Join us from 6 to 8 pm to leap into a new housing era.
